Neighborhood Park Restroom Repair and Renovation Program

Too many of the restroom buildings in the park system are in disrepair. Therefore, the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond includes a city-wide program to renovate or replace free-standing restroom buildings in our neighborhood parks.

Project Sites:

The Task Force Process is complete and the Task Force's recommendations including a prioritized list of sites to be addressed were approved by the Recreation and Parks Commission on September 3rd, 2009. The Recreation and Parks Department is currently in design for the first phase of these restroom renovation projects:

· Bayview Playground

· Marina Green (eastern location)

· McLaren Park (at Yosemite Marsh)

· Michelangelo Playground

· Portsmouth Square (at the clubhouse)

Restroom Task Force:

The Recreation & Park Commission has convened a Restroom Task Force which will work with staff and the community to develop a report and a prioritized list of sites that need restroom upgrades, replacements or new restrooms for the Commission's consideration.

The Restroom Task Force has issued the below final report to be presented to the Recreation and Parks Commission in August or early September 2009.
